Powell River Child Youth and Family Services offers a range of supports for families with teenagers who are experiencing difficulties at home. These programs are listed below.

PARENTS TOGETHER:
A weekly support group for parents of acting-up teens, focusing on building respect for the dignity and individuality of both parents and teens.

PARENT-TEEN MEDIATION SERVICES:
Referrals for anger management, teen to teen mediation, and parent-teen mediation; open referral and service to School District #47.

INDEPENDENT LIVING SUPPORT:
Practical support in the areas of nutrition, housing, budgeting, self-care, social development and vocational planning for youth making the transition to independent living. Priority is for MCFD referrals.

YOUTH ADVISORY COUNCIL:
Regular planning group and activities that empower youth to provide leadership and problem solving strategies regarding key identified health and social issues

STUDENT MOMS SUPPORT:
Group and individual support for young student parents in partnership with SD#47. Student Moms program provides information and assistance with life skills, problem solving , parenting and personal growth, particularly as these may impact academic participation and infant development
